Mothercare has embarked on a major design and refurbishment project. The objective was to create an agile office that would accommodate employees with a considered choice of workspaces suited to their style of working. The chosen design also had to enable employees and visitors to connect with the Mothercare brand throughout the building.
Mothercare plc is the leading global retailer of clothing, toys, furniture, bedding and equipment for babies and children up to the age of eight. The business is a trusted high street and online brand with parents and currently operates 160 Mothercare stores and eight Early Learning Centre stores in the UK and 1300 stores across 55 countries, along with a growing omnichannel offering.
Jeremy Smith, Group Property Director commented, “I was impressed by the quality of the designs that were presented to us and also by the family values upheld by the senior management team at Office Principles. It doesn’t take too many steps to escalate issues up to the owners of the business and yet the company still has the size and stature to be able to professionally deliver a project of this scale.”
“Office Principles operated really professionally and carefully project managed four office moves, each involved moving around 300 people,” reports Jeremy Smith. “Office Principles often worked after hours and during the weekends to minimise disruption to Mothercare employees.”
