An annual cricket-themed fundraiser has raised thousands of pounds for child bereavement charity, the Ruth Strauss Foundation.
15 Not Out brought together more than 120 guests from the commercial property sector to celebrate the success of Office Principles North and Bespoke Office Space Solutions (“BOSS”) during a combined 15 years in business.
The lunchtime event at Birmingham’s Zen Metro featured England’s former Ashes-winning captain, Michael Vaughan who took part in a special Q & A, with entertainment from comedian John Stiles and live music.
Every attendee donated £100 to the event’s Just Giving page with funds boosted via an auction that included a range of sporting memorabilia, such as England cricket shirts signed by captain, Ben Stokes and legendary fast bowler, James Anderson,
We had an amazing time with friends and colleagues at our 15 Not Out fundraiser in Birmingham. We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who joined Gary Tailby, Marcus Hayes and I at Zen Metro. Their support has played a huge role in the success of Office Principles North and Boss since we launched our respective businesses and this event was the perfect opportunity to say ‘thank you’. To raise more than £20,000 for the Ruth Strauss Foundation for a second consecutive year is particularly pleasing and we know that the funds will provide some degree of comfort to families that are going through unspeakably difficult times.
The Ruth Strauss Foundation was founded by former England cricket captain, Andrew Strauss, following the death of his wife from an incurable lung cancer. She was 46 years old and mother to two children, then aged 10 and 13.
The charity named in her honour helps to raise awareness of the need for more research and collaboration in the fight against non-smoking lung cancers and assists families facing the loss of a parent with professional emotional support.
