CBRE has appointed OP to fit out its new Birmingham HQ, at Three Chamberlain Square, Paradise. The office interior design consultancy will deliver the fit out of the 16,500 sq ft space in partnership with CBRE’s own project management team, with the global real estate firm taking up occupation early in the New Year.
OP was briefed to create a space that enhances client and employee experience, with wellbeing, sustainability and pride in Birmingham at its core.
The new workplace will house CBRE’s 150-plus staff and provide meeting and event spaces, and a business lounge for clients and colleagues visiting from the firm’s global network.
The project is targeting BREEAM Excellent and WELL Gold certification, reflecting CBRE’s commitment to sustainable, human-centric design.
Three Chamberlain Square is Birmingham’s most sustainable office building, incorporating a low-carbon terracotta facade, all-electric infrastructure and a SMART building design.
The 189,000 sq ft building, which secured BREEAM Outstanding and NABERS 5* ratings prior to completion, was designed by award-winning architects Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios and developed by MEPC, funded by Federated Hermes Private Markets and brought forward by Paradise Circus Limited Partnership, a public-private joint venture with Birmingham City Council.
CBRE will join EY and Forvis Mazars at Three Chamberlain Square.
Having outgrown our existing office, the move gave us the opportunity to revisit our accommodation requirements. Attracting and retaining the best talent is a priority for us, so it’s important that our working environment is not only functional but inspirational too. “OP rose to this brief. Their exciting proposals made imaginative use of the floorplate, captured vistas of the city’s surrounding cultural heritage and embodied CBRE’s commitment to social value. The proposed design is a homage to Birmingham and its key buildings. Materials used are recycled and largely locally sourced, reflecting CBRE’s culture, sustainability values and our ambition to decarbonise our operations by 2040. We can’t wait to reveal our new home in January.
We are excited to be working in partnership with CBRE to create a workplace that truly celebrates its people and their place within the West Midlands. By embedding sustainable and human-centric workplace principles, the design will foster collaboration, imagination, wellbeing and pride. It will serve both as a showcase for their expertise and as a welcoming space to engage clients.
