Pre-2020, there were telling signs already in place. Workers were craving freedom of choice and opting for a flexible working model where possible. Our teams completed many office surveys that showed clients were holding excess square footage that wasn’t being used. We showed them how to use the space efficiently to fit with the way their individual workforces wanted to work.

Technology means we can work pretty much anywhere - and it appears that that’s exactly what most of us want to do. According to a series of studies and surveys carried out by advice website The Home Office Life, 85 per cent of employees working from home during 2021, hoped for a hybrid approach, combining home and office, in the future. This figure remains in place, born out by our own surveys and echoed by the findings of consultants, thought leaders and influencers around the globe – the stage is set for change.
