We've created an elegant new headquarters that celebrates the rich heritage of one of the UK's most respected media and publishing companies while delivering a thoroughly modern workplace experience.

Our design for the Claverley Group's new Shrewsbury office seamlessly blends contemporary office design with cultural touchstones from the company's 150-year history, creating a space that honours the past while embracing the future.

The Claverley Group is a company with innovation and integrity at its core. With origins dating back to 1874, it has flourished under five generations of Graham family ownership since 1882.

Today, the Group shapes the future of media, publishing, digital marketing and design, working with businesses throughout the world while maintaining its foundational values of reliability, consistency, trust, and unsurpassed quality.

The new headquarters delivers an impressive arrival experience, beginning with a striking double-height reception area featuring a dramatic feature wall with architectural lighting and a statement staircase.

We've created a sophisticated interpretation of traditional Tudor-style design elements, incorporating wall panelling that provides an elegant backdrop for the company's collection of family portraits.

These artworks, reimagined with a contemporary aesthetic, create a powerful visual connection to the company's heritage throughout the space.

The first floor delivers a bright, open-plan environment flooded with natural light through full-height windows.

Private offices arranged around the floor plate's perimeter provide dedicated spaces for the leadership team, while banks of desks in the central area promote collaboration and communication.

A fully equipped kitchen creates a true hospitality experience, with professional-grade appliances supporting the company's in-house chef. This space serves as both a practical amenity and a social hub for the team.

The boardroom exemplifies our approach to balancing heritage with modernity.

Deep, rich colours and premium materials create a sophisticated atmosphere, while the client's existing boardroom furniture has been thoughtfully incorporated into the new setting.

Throughout the space, we've utilised furniture from premium manufacturers including Moventi and Narbutas to create a refined, contemporary feel.

The careful selection of deep colour palettes and premium finishes helps to showcase the company's heritage while ensuring a thoroughly modern workplace experience.

Sustainability was also a key consideration, with existing furniture thoughtfully repurposed within the new space where appropriate.

Gary Tailby, joint managing director of OP, said: "Working with The Claverley Group has been a wonderful opportunity to demonstrate how workplace design can bridge past and present. We've created a space that honours five generations of family leadership while providing the modern, flexible environments needed for today's ways of working. The result is a headquarters that feels both timeless and contemporary."

OP understood our vision from day one and has delivered a workplace that our team is proud to call home. The OP team were a joy to work with. They are great people who are passionate about their craft, and they ensured the project was fun from start to finish.
