Held at Birmingham’s celebrity restaurant, Asha’s, the event was headlined by Sir Andrew Strauss, former England cricket captain and founder of the Ruth Strauss Foundation. He was joined by singer-songwriter Edwina Hayes and Geoff Miller OBE, former England Test player and the ECB’s first national selector.
The Ruth Strauss Foundation was established by Sir Andrew in memory of his wife, Ruth, who died from a rare form of lung cancer in 2018. The charity supports families facing the death of a parent with professional bereavement services, while also raising awareness and funding research into non-smoking lung cancers.
