Leading interior design consultancy, Office Principles has handed over the new coworking location of flexible office provider, Techspace.

Worship Street boasts c.25,000 sq ft of modern office space for pioneering tech, set within an historic seven-storey building in Shoreditch, East London.

Techspace members gain access to a range of amenities including a new café, boardroom, meeting rooms, members’ lounge and a podcasting suite - with deskspace for 300 people.

The refurbished building also benefits from the addition of multiple events spaces, including a revamped roof terrace, a ground floor bar and The Lightwell, a dry-hire, self-contained event space with capacity for up to 50 guests.

Office Principles and Techspace collaborated on the design and delivery of the combined CAT A and CAT B fit out for more than a year to ensure that the space was reconfigured to maximise its occupancy.

New lobbies have been added on each floor, there is a dedicated ground floor fire escape and new rooftop mechanical plant, while power has been significantly upgraded. A new entrance door to the ground floor cafe space provides an enhanced entrance and arrival experience and the comms room has been relocated to create additional space.

Inspired by the area’s former foundries and Arts and Crafts workshops, the building has been stripped back to reveal many of its original features. A raw, industrial palette is complemented by high-end finishes including the use of textiles, warm colours and natural timbers, with feature tiles, a heritage red kitchen and concrete worktop on the ground floor.

Worship Street expands Techspace’s existing East London portfolio of locations to five. It is the first location the provider has opened post-pandemic and the first to be delivered in partnership with Office Principles.

Worship Street is an exclusive coworking destination that celebrates the individuality of a characterful building and its historic location. It also fulfils our remit to deliver a go-to place for pioneering tech by offering a series of flexible office spaces that suit the varied needs of modern occupiers. The modifications we have made to the layout of the building have significantly increased the available headcount and potential profitability for our client. We have maximised the available space and reclaimed previously underused basement and rooftop areas, to deliver new event and entertainment facilities for Techspace members.

Stephen Parsons, Managing Director of Office Principles

We’re thrilled to launch our newest location, Worship Street as we continue our expansion across London. Old Street is, of course, the home of London's tech scene. We’ve proudly spent a decade supporting entrepreneurs and their teams in East London and Worship Street is the latest edition in our efforts to serve the evolving needs of scaleups in the capital.
