OP has completed Cooper Parry's new Thames Valley hub in Reading, transforming 12,000 sq ft of office space into a rich, texture-filled workplace.

The four-week project has reimagined the existing office space to create a distinctive 'home from home' environment that encourages flexible working and collaboration, whilst incorporating sustainable design principles.

1612 CP Reading 013 Revised

Drawing inspiration from private members' clubs and coworking environments, the workspace features a variety of modern settings including a welcoming business lounge, comfortable breakout areas, and adaptable meeting spaces.

A signature round table reception area creates an informal arrival experience that sets the tone for the dynamic workplace culture.

Sustainability was a key focus of the project, with OP implementing an extensive office furniture reuse strategy.

The workplace design team carefully integrated existing furnishings with new feature pieces to create the desired aesthetic whilst minimising environmental impact.

Practical considerations influenced material choices, including the specification of loose lay vinyl flooring to reduce future dilapidations.

The new hub represents an important step in Cooper Parry's regional consolidation strategy, bringing together team members from multiple locations across the Thames Valley area.

Local connections are celebrated throughout the space, including meeting rooms named after Reading landmarks and the installation of a life-sized gold lion sculpture.

The workspace also features extensive planting by Urban Planters, contributing to employee wellbeing and the overall aesthetic.

This project demonstrates how thoughtful design can transform an existing space into a vibrant culture canvas. We've created a multi-faceted environment that reflects Cooper Parry's distinctive identity whilst providing the variety of settings essential for contemporary hybrid working. The success of the project was enhanced by excellent collaboration with the building management team, allowing us to complete the transformation efficiently whilst adding value beyond our original scope.

Our new Thames Valley hub perfectly captures the Cooper Parry culture and spirit. The team at OP has created a space that doesn't just look fantastic - it works brilliantly for our people and our visitors. The variety of working environments and the overall atmosphere make this a place where our teams genuinely want to be, which is exactly what we were looking for.
